needs are similar to our own.

To show children the time and care required to
look after farm animals and pets properly.

To pick some produce from the growing fields to
show where food comes from and discuss healthy
eating
Visit
Outline
On
arrival at the farm you will be met by Church Farm
staff who will show you the location of toilets,
hand-washing facilities etc. There will be a brief
introduction where an outline of the visit will
be given with an emphasis on farm hygiene and safety.
The
group will follow the farmer around the farm as
he conducts his daily tasks of feeding, checking
and replacing bedding for all the animals.
There will be a tractor ride for the whole group
up to the fields to meet the larger farm animals
and discuss their requirements and purpose.
The
tractor will then continue to the growing fields
where the children will be able to pick and collect
produce from the ground. There will be a brief talk
about organic vegetables and the importance of healthy
eating choices.The
produce picked will then be taken back down with
the group.
