Visit
Outline
On
arrival at the farm you will be met by Church Farm
staff who will show you the location of toilets,
hand-washing facilities etc. There will be a brief
introduction where an outline of the visit will
be given with an emphasis on farm hygiene and safety.
The
produce journey starts in the greenhouse where groups
can help plant some seeds and the different plant
parts are examined.
The party will then be given a tractor ride up to
the growing fields. In the fields the different
crop varieties will be looked at and there will
be an opportunity to harvest some produce to take
home. During this time crop growing methods are
examined and the organic growing methods are discussed.
The produce picked will then be returned to the
farm and some will be prepared for sale in the shop.
